Why you should use a ferry service or a boat trip in Malta

There are several benefits to using ferry services or boat trips for travel within Malta and to nearby islands. One of the main advantages is convenience. With regular departures and a variety of route options, it’s easy for travelers to reach their desired destinations.

Another key benefit is the opportunity to experience the beauty of the Maltese islands from the water. The journey itself offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and the scenic coastline. Once you arrive, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure, including hiking, swimming, and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters.

Tips for Using the Comino Ferry Services or Boat Trips

Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your journey:

• Plan your trip in advance. The ferries and boat trips in Malta can get busy, especially during the peak tourist season. To avoid long lines and delays, it's a good idea to purchase your ticket and register your pass in advance.

• Arrive early. The ferries and boat trips in Malta operate on a schedule, and it's important to arrive at the meeting point at least 20 minutes before your departure time. This will give you enough time to board.

• Bring snacks and drinks. Some ferries and boat trips in Malta have a snack bar and vending machines, but prices can be steep. Consider bringing your own snacks and drinks to save money and have more options.

• Dress appropriately. The weather in Malta can be unpredictable in winter, so it's a good idea to dress in layers and bring a hat and sunscreen.

• Enjoy the ride. The trip itself is an enjoyable experience, with beautiful views of the surrounding islands and the Mediterranean Sea. Take a moment to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Crystal Lagoon

Located West of the island, the lagoon is an area known for its crystal clear blue waters and caves. The area is located roughly 10 minutes by foot from Blue Lagoon and it can also be reached by boat, kayak, or swimming. It is a great place for snorkeling, swimming, cliff diving and exploring sea caves.

There are 4 caves located in Crystal Lagoon, the first one can be seen on the photo. This natural attraction is a large sea cave with a collapsed roof, forming a hole with a beautiful arch to the Mediterranean Sea. The second cave is located along the coastline 210 meters right when facing the first cave. If you are planning to visit this cave, we suggest you to bring a waterproof flash light as the cave is very deep and dark. If you are adventurous enough to make it to the end, you will find a small hidden sandy beach. The third cave is located along the coastline 120 meters left when facing the first cave. Despite its small size and narrow entrance, this swim-through cave is worth exploring. The fourth cave is located opposite the third cave around 100 meters away. Despite its tiny size and entrance, this cave is still worth exploring.
